I made it home from Michigan in 6 hours, even though I had to go 45 mph through some unplowed lake effect snow.
I need to go do laundry or put away my Christmas tree. It is way too cold out to go to the laundramat, and way too cold inside my apartment to do anything.

Garlic beans:
2 lbs. fresh green beans
1-2 cloves garlic, sliced
1/2 cup white vinegar
Wash, then snap the ends off of the beans. Boil them until just tender, not mushy. Drain the beans and put into a bowl, preferably with a lid but plastic wrap can work too. Toss in your garlic and vinegar. You wanted the beans to be coated in vinegar so that they all absorb some flavor. Cover them and let the beans chill in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. The longer they sit, the stronger they will taste. Also, the thinner you slice the garlic the more they will taste like garlic. You can throw in a pinch of salt if you want, too. My dad's parents used to make these all the time. Caution: you will stink like garlic after eating these, but they are so worth it.
